BHP has partnered with Australian-based supplier of building, construction, and mining materials company Hallett Group to support its green cement transformation initiatives.
Hallett Group will provide BHP with cement materials, lime, and quarry products for BHP’s Copper South Australian operations, specifically for the Olympic Dam and Prominent Hill mines.
BHP head of commercial – copper South Australia Bree Sipavicius said the company is continuously searching for new and innovative ways to greaten operations at BHP Copper SA, and the agreement with Hallett Group was strategically imperative.
“Hallett Group joins a strong line up of existing South Australian suppliers who work with us here at BHP Copper SA to enable us to produce the copper the world needs right here in South Australia,” Sipavicius said.
“Thank you to all the BHP teams who were part of this, and congratulations to Hallett Group, who join our much-valued supplier cohort.”
The partnership comes several months after Hallett Group announced the advancement of its $200 million Green Cement Transformation Project at Port Augusta, which secured a $12 million South Australian government loan.
Hallett Group chief executive officer Kane Salisbury said the agreement with BHP is a very proud moment for the company and will help to deliver a greater South Australia.
