Boral makes changes to senior executive team

Metso has completed its acquisition of McCloskey International, a Canadian mobile crushing and screening equipment manufacturer.

Boral has announced major changes to its senior executive team which will come into effect from 1 June 2020.

The current President and CEO of Boral North America, David Mariner, will step down from his role at the end of May after 10 years with the company.

Darren Schulz, the current president of Boral Roofing North America will be the Acting President and CEO of Boral North America.

Eric Miller, currently the Vice President of Sales and Marketing Roofing, will be the Acting President of Boral Roofing North America. Miller joined Boral in 2010 through the acquisition of the previously 50 per cent owned MonierLifetile joint venture.

Ross Harper, who was Group President Operations for Boral Australia, Boral North America and HSE and Innovation, has been transitioning back to work since 1 April 2020 after a four-month period of medical leave. Harper will move into the role of Group President HSE, Sustainability, Innovation and Operations Excellence in preparation to return to work on a full-time basis.

Boral CEO and Managing Director Mike Kane thanked Mariner for his 10 years of service to the company.

“Under David’s leadership, the division has become a much larger and better positioned portfolio of businesses, delivering improved safety outcomes and benefiting from the substantial synergies delivered through the Headwaters acquisition,” Kane said.

“I welcome Darren Schulz into the role of leading Boral North America. Darren has extensive experience, having first joined Boral in 2002 and having held a number of executive roles with the Group both in the US and in Australia.

“In the current environment, Darren’s knowledge and experience of the US market coupled with his ability to optimise cost structures, will be critically important. He has a track record of effectively managing and responding to change and challenging business environments.”

The final decision on a permanent head for Boral North America will be made by Boral’s new CEO and Managing Director.

The Boral Board is searching for a new CEO following the announcement that Kane will retire after delivering Boral’s full year 2020 Financial year results.
