Bulk Handling Technologies (BHT) has released a range of robust and reliable solutions for quicklime slaking and small to medium capacity grinding.
The company has more than 20 years’ experience in the design of lime slaking systems, including roller mounted ball mills, engineers at BHT were looking to develop a more reliable grinding mill.
BHT senior mechanical engineer, Sebastien Poulinet, said quicklime slaking systems are a necessary part of many mining operations.
“They are required to reliably produce a Milk-of-Lime solution 24 hours a day with minimal operator involvement,” Poulinet said.
A key part of most quicklime slaking systems is often a small to medium capacity grinding mill. With a dry feed capacity ranging anywhere from 2 – 25 TPH, the grinding mill is part an automated lime slaking system designed to slake and grind quicklime feed in either an open or closed grinding circuit.

“The simplicity of the tyre driven design makes it inherently more reliable than conventional urethane roller designs. We also have a far greater load capacity with this design,” Poulinet said.
The BHT trye mounted ball mill range spans from 1m diameter up to 2m diameter and the grinding mill would typically form part of a complete lime slaking or grinding package.
Established in 2012, continuous innovation and production development is a core strength for BHT. Its tyre mounted ball mills form a small part of our range of bulk materials handling products and systems.
