2024/25 deliveries to Viterra surpassed one million tonnes last week, with growers delivering more than 500,000 tonnes into its sites.
The majority of deliveries were wheat, followed by barley and canola. Good harvesting conditions on Friday saw close to 120,000 tonnes delivered for the day, the biggest day for the week and harvest so far.
Viterra Western region operations manager, Nick Pratt said harvest on the Eyre Peninsula is advancing with the region receiving similar tonnes to the week prior.
“Grower deliveries to our Western region sites again made up more than half of total Viterra receivals last week, with Cummins the busiest site for the region,” Pratt said.
“We also received the first 2024/25 delivery at Yeelanna, a load of faba beans. We’re continuing to work closely with growers to ensure our opening hours meet their needs so they can maximise deliveries when the weather permits.
“It’s also great to hear positive feedback on site operations, in particular on elevation capacity and the new and upgraded large deck drive over hoppers in place at sites across the region which provide increased efficiencies.”

Viterra Central region operations manager, Jack Tansley said Central region deliveries increased slightly last week despite some disruptions due to weather.
“Most of the activity was at Wallaroo, Ardrossan, Port Giles, Snowtown and Bowmans,” Tansley said.
“Lentils are slowing down as growers move their focus onto wheat and barley, and we’re also seeing canola deliveries pick up.”
Viterra Eastern region operations manager, Andrew Cannon says tonnes delivered to sites in the region increased week on week, and the team is ready for harvest deliveries to ramp up.
“It was exciting to receive the first deliveries for the season into Lameroo and Bordertown, with the delivery of genetically modified (GM) canola at Bordertown on Friday kicking off harvest at our south east sites,” Cannon said.
The first 2024/25 harvest deliveries to Yeelanna, Lameroo and Bordertown last week take the total number of Viterra sites receiving grain to 44.
