As part of Fenner Conveyors’ commitment to reducing environmental impact and supporting a sustainable future, it has successfully installed solar energy systems across its manufacturing plants and service workshops.

This all occurred throughout 2024, generating renewable energy that powers our operations and contributes clean energy back to the grid.

Solar energy allows Fenner Conveyors to lower its reliance on grid-generated electricity and, at the same time, contribute to the creation of green energy. This initiative aligns seamlessly with its Michelin values and purpose, as well as with its broader environmental goals.

By incorporating solar power into our daily operations, it is making significant strides towards reducing its carbon footprint and achieving its key performance indicators within its ‘Planet’ pillar of the Michelin Group’s all-sustainable strategy.

One of the reasons solar energy makes so much sense for Fenner Conveyors is the nature of its operations.
A large portion of its work takes place during the day when sunlight is abundant, and many of its branches are located in some of the best areas in Australia for solar generation, thanks to their high solar radiance. This strategic positioning has enabled Fenner Conveyors to harness the power of the sun efficiently, ensuring maximum energy production throughout the day.

The impact of its solar initiative is already significant. Across all locations, it has installed a total of 999 solar panels, which collectively generate 807,630 kWh of energy. This renewable energy is directly powering its operations, with an estimated 546,099.6 kWh consumed by its facilities. On average, 88.5 per cent of its energy needs are met by solar, with this percentage varying slightly across different branches.

Furthermore, Fenner Conveyors is not only benefiting from the energy it generates, but it is also contributing to the broader community. Its solar systems have allowed it to return an estimated 261,075 kWh of clean, renewable energy back to the grid. This is a vital part of its commitment to reducing reliance on non-renewable sources and helping create a greener future for all.

As Fenner Conveyors continues towards its net-zero targets, this solar energy progress in 2024 demonstrates that sustainable practices are not just a vision but a tangible, actionable reality. It is excited about the future of its renewable energy journey and looks forward to unlocking more milestones on its path to environmental stewardship.
Fenner Conveyors believes that every step it takes towards an all-sustainable future is a step in the right direction. Together with its employees, partners, and communities, it is building a more sustainable, energy-efficient future — one solar panel at a time.
