The CBH Group has received its first shipment of liquid fertiliser at the Kwinana Grain Terminal.
CBH Fertiliser received 23,800 tonnes of liquid urea ammonium nitrate (UAN) aboard the Fairchem Blue Shark, following its 46-day journey from Donaldsonville, Louisiana in the United States.
The vessel berthed at the Kwinana Grain Terminal – the first non-grain vessel to berth at the Terminal since it was built in 1974.
CBH head of fertiliser David Pritchard said this significant milestone highlights the strength and scale of the CBH network to deliver value to growers.
“We are working hard to deliver supply chain efficiencies that help reduce input costs for WA growers,” Pritchard said.

“Berthing our UAN fertiliser vessels at the Kwinana Grain Terminal leverages our existing network and people – helping us deliver a competitively-priced product.”
The vessel is the first of two UAN shipments expected at the terminal this year, providing up to 50,000 tonnes of additional UAN supply to Western Australian grain growers.
“Not only are we leveraging our existing network, we are also chartering the vessels ourselves, leveraging our people and relationships,” Pritchard said.
“All of this results in efficiencies and helps drive the cost of fertiliser products down for WA growers.”
The UAN will be transferred via a purpose-built 1.5km pipeline into two tanks at the Kwinana Fertiliser Facility, which opened last month.
