Fortune Magazine has named Fluor as its top-ranked engineering and construction company in its 2017 World’s Most Admired Companies list, for the sixth year in a row.
Fluor, which is based in Texas but has operated in Australia’s heavy industries for over six decades, said Fortune’s list was “considered a definitive report card on corporate reputations”.
Chairman and chief executive officer David Seaton noted the rankings were compiled by querying thousands of executives, directors and analysts.
The list measures corporate reputation and performance against nine criteria, from investment value and quality of management and products to social responsibility and ability to attract talent, he explained.
“To be recognised as a World’s Most Admired Company and first in our sector for six straight years is a tremendous honour,” Seaton said.
He added the award was “a testament to our 60,000 employees who work hard every day to make a difference in some of the most extreme conditions and locations all over the globe”.
