FPM Cereal Milling Systems has announced an exciting new chapter after acquiring a second mill in Guyra, NSW.
FPM Cereal Milling Systems has operated for 20 years as an independent, specialised milling company which focuses on cereal and pulse-based products. Its Tamworth mill produces an expansive range of flours for food production companies around Australia.
In a statement, the company said the new acquisition would not affect its Tamworth base.
“Our Tamworth flour mill will continue to make all the high-quality flour you know and love,” the company posted.
However, it has acquired a second mill in Guyra from Mort & Co, which the latter has owned since 2021. The mill has been operational since 2007. The acquisition is under a new company called Summit Milling, of which FPM’s owner and miller Kevin Sherrie will be the managing director.
According to FPM, the site has a capacity for 20,000 tonnes annually which will enable them to supply pellets in 20kg, 500kg, 1000kg bulk bags and bulk.
“It’s an exciting time ahead as the Guyra Stockfeed Mill is under the ownership of our family business. We are pleased to be able to support local employment and the continued growth of Guyra into the future,” the company posted.
“A big thank you to Stephen and the team at Mort & Co, for working proactively and collaboratively with us throughout this transaction.
“Summit Milling will be making market-leading, nutritionally focused, stockfeed too. Products will be available for purchase directly from the site as well as from a range of local rural retailers.”
