Helix Technologies unveils browser-based conveyor design app

Helix Technologies has launched a new online web application for belt conveyor design called DeltaT Online Conveyor Design Software.

Helix Technologies has launched a new online web application for belt conveyor design called DeltaT Online Conveyor Design Software.

The software is based on the Helix Delta-T6 desktop version, which required users to manually install. The online version has been re-written with modern web development tools to be more user friendly, include more features and enable users to perform conveyor calculations in a browser.

Some of the features include:

  • Tension and power calculations
  • Calculate using CEMA, ISO 5048 (DIN 22101) or the Viscoelastic method for low resistance rubber belts
  • Includes traditional static analysis (rigid belt) design as detailed in the conveyor codes with an option to do full flexible belt dynamic analysis to ensure safe starting and stopping of conveyors. The dynamic analysis is essential for large installed power conveyors as well as long overland conveyors.
  • Equipment selection from databases for belts, idlers, pulleys and shafts, gearboxes, motors, fluid couplings, brakes
  • Calculate vertical curve radii and super-elevation (banking) angles for horizontal curves
  • Create and print pdf Reports
  • Create and download an excel .csv conveyor comparison List comparing multiple conveyor files
  • Quick calculations including hopper pull out forces, discharge trajectory, transition distance, belt turnovers, and vertical curves.

As a result of moving to browsers, conveyor files can be stored in a secure database and can be accessed anywhere in the world with an internet connection. Equipment that the user inputs and saves to the equipment databases is also stored on the online database.

Software updates take place automatically, with all users getting the latest version of the software as it is released.

Multiple Conveyor files can be opened in new tabs and the user can change designs and compare results for different equipment settings for the same conveyor.

Users can share their conveyor design files with other users making collaboration and group project development easy.

After the model has been built the design can be optimised by reviewing the reports for equipment.
