Interflour boss to depart

Greg Harvey has resigned as CEO of Interflour, the Singapore-based joint venture between Australian grain handler CBH and Indonesian billionaire Anthony Salim.

Harvey, who has spent 13 years at Interflour, has chosen to leave the business to live with his family in Perth.

“These are never easy decisions but I have been away from my family for seven years now and it’s time to return to Perth,” Harvey said on January 22. “My family has sacrificed a lot over the years for my career and it’s time for me to return the gesture.”

During his time at the helm, Harvey developed Interflour’s network to include 10 flour mills. The business also opened its malt plant in Vietnam – the largest in Southeast Asia – in July 2017, and commissioned a flour mill in the Philippines in August.

Interflour chairman Imre Mencshelyi said Harvey’s leadership had helped transform the company into one of the leading grain processers in the region.

“He is a highly respected leader within the Group and industry and will be missed,” Mencshelyi said. “He has made significant contributions to global nutrition efforts through his leadership of the Food Fortification Initiative, focused on alleviating new-born neural tube defects through implementing flour fortification programs.”

Interflour announced chief strategy officer Avi Fintz will replace Harvey.

The transition will take place on March 9.
