The Jenike & Johanson team in Canada has celebrated the company’s 50 years of innovation in bulk solids handling with a special anniversary event held in Toronto this month.

The open house brought together clients, partners, and employees to reflect on five decades of industry leadership.

“I am pleased to share that our 50th anniversary celebration was a great success,” Jenike & Johanson president Tracy Holmes said.

The day featured lab tours, technical talks, and a celebratory reception, giving guests a chance to see how the company’s expertise has shaped solutions for industries ranging from mining and chemicals to food, pharmaceuticals, and energy.

“It was a memorable day, made even more meaningful by the moving speeches and kind words from John Carson and Jim Prescott, as well as from our Canadian founders, David Goodwill and Harvey Griggs,” Holmes said.

Since its establishment in 1975, Jenike & Johanson has been addressing the complex challenges associated with bulk material handling. Its Canadian team has supported projects both locally and internationally, developing practical, science-based solutions that improve material flow, reduce downtime, and optimise plant performance.

The company’s legacy traces back to the pioneering work of Andrew Jenike, whose contributions laid the foundation for modern bulk solids handling practices.

“Fifty years is quite a milestone, and I can say with pride that by building on the vision of the great people who came before us, our bright and enthusiastic team will carry us forward for another 50 years and beyond. Andrew Jenike would be proud of who we are today and share our excitement for the future,” Holmes said.

Over the years, the Canadian office has extended this legacy by combining research-driven methods with real-world applications, helping industries operate more safely and efficiently.

As part of the wider Jenike & Johanson organisation, the Canadian office benefits from a global network of expertise.

Collectively, the company has tested over 19,000 unique powders and bulk solids, completed more than 9000 projects, and built up close to 1000 person-years of experience in the field.
