Fenner Conveyors has unveiled a striking new cultural landmark at its Kwinana site, with the completion of the K-Mix Reconciliation Mural.

Over recent months, the company’s new rubber mixing facility has been transformed not just structurally, but visually, with the mural marking what Fenner describes as “a powerful moment for Fenner Conveyors and the wider One Michelin Group Australia team. It’s more than a mural. It’s a statement of respect, reconciliation, and community.

The artwork, which stretches over 900m² and rises more than 30 metres high, now defines the southern elevation of the facility. Its creators intended it to be a cultural landmark, educational, inclusive, and connected to Noongar culture.

Installed in a prominent and accessible location, the mural has already started to engage both workers and the local community. Information about the artists and its cultural significance is displayed onsite, encouraging greater awareness and pride in place.

As the mural took shape, local workers stopped by to ask questions and share their excitement. It has already created a sense of vibrancy and connection to the land.

The project was realised through a strong collaborative effort between Fenner Conveyors, Indigenous artists Brenda Mau and Harley Richards, and the City of Kwinana. Public art consultant Art Theory guided the development, ensuring alignment with the City of Kwinana’s Public Art Masterplan and Policy.

Cultural consultation was central to the work, with Traditional Custodians of the Gnaala Karla Booja region engaged throughout. Fenner moved with deep respect and intentionality, engaging Elders to ensure cultural integrity and bring through Noongar elements throughout the piece.

Now completed, the K-Mix mural stands as a daily reminder of reconciliation and inclusivity.

The piece embodies a commitment to truth-telling, cultural respect, and community engagement. From the outset, the project aimed to amplify First Nations voices and foster connection through storytelling and creativity.

Fenner is extending an open invitation to the community. Fenner invites everyone, including local workers, community members, and visitors, to come and see the mural as a celebration of colour, culture, and connection.
