Bulk material handling equipment supplier and manufacturer Kinder Australia is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year.

The company began on 2 November 1985 in a two-bedroom house in Prahan, Victoria, led by its founders Neil and Christine Kinder.

Originally, the business specialised in conveyor and elevator products, screens, drilling consumables, rubber products, hose, pipe and fittings and abrasion corrosion control products.

At the time, no computers or mobile phones were available for quick access to inventory records and communication, meaning the two needed to use a pager when on long business trips.

Early business was based on mobile coverage at the time, which grew significantly during the rapid progression of technology in the 1990s.
