Metso launches new cone crusher for mining

Metso has launched a new cone crusher, the Nordberg HP900 Series, built for increased performance and reduced capital expenditure in the aggregate and mining markets.

It is an upgrade to the HP800 cone crusher, which has more than 175 installation. Around 80 per cent of the parts are compatible between the two technologies.

The HP900 has expanded its capacity by 15 per cent through improved kinematics, raised pivot point and a power increase. A new lubrication system is included to help support the new performance level.

The cone crusher is delivered pre-assembled, pre-wired and factory tested, packaged with a rubber-pad mounted subframe and guards to allow for a quick and safe setup with a compact footprint. This helps reduce installation time by 50 per cent.

It also includes a tramp-release system that allows passage of tramp iron to minimise production stoppages and protect internal components.

Top service access to the head, shaft, eccentric and other major components helps make disassembly safer and easier. Metso also says its wear parts can be replaced up to four times faster than similar cone crushers.

The HP900 comes equipped with Metso’s IC70C automation system to ensure optimal operating parameters. All information can be tracked using a single screen and features help and troubleshooting options.

“Often copied but never matched, HP cone crushers have satisfied many aggregates and mining customers around the world. With the HP900 we go straight to the point, with increased performance and reduced CAPEX,” Metso Vice President, Mining Crushers Jim Bathie said.
