Metso wins $43M supply contract for gold processing plant

Metso has been selected to supply key crushing and grinding equipment for a Russian gold ore processing plant.

Metso has been selected to supply key crushing and grinding equipment for a Russian gold ore processing plant.

The gold plant, owned by Pavlik Gold JSC, began operations in 2015 and currently produces around 7 tons of gold each year.

With the new equipment, the plant expects to double its ore processing capacity and increase gold production.

Metso will supply the primary crushing station, a Nordberg C160 jaw crusher, a SAG mill and two ball mills with a total installed power of more than 20 megawatts.

The supply contract is worth around $43 million (EUR 25 million).

“We greatly value our long-term cooperation with Pavlik Gold, where Metso’s equipment has been in use already for several years,” Metso Senior VP, Russia and CIS Alexey Muzychkin said.

“We are sure that the experience and technical competence of both companies in this type of projects will help us rapidly achieve the goals.”

The delivery is expected to take place in the first half of 2021.
