Metso wins $57M calcining plant supply contract

Metso has signed a contract to deliver a calcining system worth around $57 million (EUR 30 million) to a customer in Russia.

Metso has signed a contract to deliver a calcining system worth around $57 million (EUR 30 million) to a customer in Russia.

The system is made up of two calcining lines with a total capacity of 420,000 tonnes per year.

It has been designed to remove moisture and volatile substances while improving the product’s physical and chemical features.

Both lines feature a rotary kiln, an afterburner and rotary cooler. Automation and additional systems are also included within the contract.

The contract has been booked in Metso’s Q1 2020 orders received, with commissioning expected to take place in 2023.

Metso has designed and supplied similar equipment to more than 50 plants around the world, representing around 70 per cent of the total global capacity.
