METTLER TOLEDO’s new test trucks

METTLER TOLEDO gives customers control with its new trucks.

METTLER TOLEDO has launched new test trucks and forklift trucks, marking a significant milestone in servicing clients across Western Australia and beyond.

The company offers automated vehicle weighing solutions designed to deliver accurate and reliable weight measurements for various types of trucks. These weighbridge solutions are used in industries such as agriculture, transportation, logistics, and mining to ensure accurate payload management, enhance safety, and improve operational efficiency. These solutions include weighbridges, in-motion axle weighing systems, and integrated software for data management and reporting.

METTLER TOLEDO general manager for Australia and New Zealand, Andrew Bick said customers commonly experience delays due to service providers lacking their own fully functioning test trucks and certified weights.

“Many suppliers rely on subcontractors or unreliable vehicles causing clients to wait longer than necessary,” Bick said.

“With these new trucks, METTLER TOLEDO gains full control over servicing operations with timely and dependable support without the need for external contractors. Compared to previous testing vehicles, the new trucks offer significant improvements in carrying capacity and operational efficiency. Additionally, the new trucks consume significantly less fuel, aligning with METTLER TOLEDO’s commitment to green initiatives. This reduces emissions and supports broader environmental goals.”

The new test trucks reduce equipment downtime dramatically. Forklift loading and unloading times have decreased, and securing and releasing calibrated weights now takes 30 to 60 minutes less, speeding up service cycles and increasing equipment uptime.

The ability to deploy both trucks on larger capacity weighbridges allows METTLER TOLEDO to conduct servicing and calibration more quickly and safely, potentially eliminating costly and time-consuming deadload procedures. This translates to reduced downtime and improved service continuity for its customers.

The new trucks allow for testing of weighbridges up to 90 tonnes, without the need for traditional deadloads. This advancement lowers costs and enables faster sectional tests. Using known calibrated weights reduces onsite testing time, enhances safety, and cuts overall costs for the customer.

METTLER TOLEDO’s service offerings include regular maintenance, calibration, repairs, and technical support for vehicle weighing equipment such as weighbridges and in-motion axle weighing systems. Proper maintenance helps customers optimise weighing operations, reduce downtime, and meet regulatory requirements.

“Safety has been a key focus in designing these new trucks,” Bick said. “The advanced safety features of these test trucks minimise risks not only for our technicians but also our clients during servicing.”

Additional features include forklifts with overloading and height/reach warnings to proactively prevent operational hazards and a new hydraulic securing system for calibrated weights replaces manual chain securing.

Bick said METTLER TOLEDO’s weighbridge servicing team, consists of specialists with decades of experience and factory training. Serving a broad installation base throughout Australia, this team’s skills combined with the new test trucks’ capabilities enable top-tier maintenance and repair services.

“Critical sectors such as grain, mining, fertiliser, distribution centres, and waste/recycling will continue to benefit from accurate and reliable weighbridge services,” Bick said.

“Our two new test trucks are supported by a dedicated team based in our Malaga office”, he said, “ensuring efficient resource management, well-planned preventive maintenance, and prompt responses to technical support or repair requests.”

“The new test trucks reinforce our commitment to delivering superior service experiences to our customers, solidifying METTLER TOLEDO’s position as a trusted partner in weighbridge and industrial weighing solutions.”
