Fenner Dunlop has designed and manufactured a low-cost unloading station, built to receive and transport a variety of bulk materials from directly underneath a railcar.

The train unloader was built for the SADA Group, which handles contract processing and handling services for the NSW and Australian coal industry. It contracted Fenner Dunlop ACE to provide it with a lower cost-per-tonne alternative to trucking.

Two identical systems operate in parallel to convey materials up four and a half metres vertically from under the railcar to a location 32 metres away to streamline the unloading process.

The Train Unloader Conveyor aims to provide a safe, cost-effective alternative to conventional unloading methods, using a compact design robust enough to suit a range of material types, particle sizes and densities.

SADA has recognised the design will contribute significantly to its customer’s operations.
