Nord Drivesystems Australia has unveiled its latest generation of industrial gear unit, designed for use within the bulk material handling industry.

The gear unit, called the MAXXDRIVE XT, has been designed to provide precise, dynamic flow of materials, which can be individually controlled.

The MAXXDRIVE XT uses an application-optimised two-stage helical bevel gear unit, making it ideal for belt conveyor systems in the mining and quarrying industries.

Two versions are available for each unit with flange mounting or push-on housings, allowing them to be mounted parallel or at right angles to the axis in a conveyor system.

A foot-mounted, International Efficiency 3 motor on a motor rocker or frame can be connected to the system with a hydraulic coupling. The units’ power and speed range has also been specifically adapted to the needs of the target industry.

Customised explosion protection has been included to allow use in dusty environments.

Nord offers a practical maintenance package, which includes a combination of protective measures and monitoring systems to ensure the industrial gear unit can function under harsh ambient conditions from dust and weather.
