Berg Engineering, the Queensland-based engineering firm, has commissioned a state-of-the-art machining centre to support bulk handling operations.
The company acquired its latest machining centre – the Okuma MCR-A5CII 25×40 Double Column 5 Face – significantly increasing its manufacturing capability for heavy industry.
“This new machine is enhancing our manufacturing capabilities, allowing us to take on more complex projects and improve lead times and cost efficiencies for our clients,” Berg CEO, Derek Berg, said.
“It also marks a major step forward in our commitment to supporting the local economy by directly contributing to job creation within the Moreton Bay region and further strengthening the role of advanced manufacturing in our community.”
The Japanese-made Okuma machine has been installed and commissioned at Berg’s Brisbane facility in Brendale and was officially opened on Monday November 25 by Moreton Bay Councillor, Cath Tonks, and Berg’s principal partner, Nilu Berg.
The Okuma will provide industry with highly efficient and precise component and part manufacture, remanufacturing and refurbishments to support the optimisation of its bulk handling and processing assets.
