Registrations open for TUNRA Bulk Solids Brisbane short course

TUNRA Bulk Solids will be holding another short course in Brisbane due to increasing demand.

The upcoming course will focus on all aspects of bulk solids handling including storage, feeding, transfers and belt conveying.

The course, which has been held in Perth for over 15 years, will bring together engineering houses, end-users, coal miners, and members of industry working with all sorts of bulk commodities.

Early bird registrations are now in effect until the 20th of April, and spots are limited to ensure productive interactions amongst participants.

TUNRA’s courses are aimed at professionals from mining companies, ports, engineering companies and equipment suppliers in the materials handling industry, with positions ranging from operations to management, including:

  • Engineering managers/technical managers
  • Mechanical engineers
  • Process engineers
  • Services engineers
  • Design engineers
  • Designers

The course presents current practices in the conceptual design of materials handling systems including mass-flow and funnel-flow bins, stockpiles, feeders, transfer chutes and belt conveyors.

An overview of the crucial bulk solid material properties including tests and procedures for their determination is presented, considerations on the use of computational modelling tools such as Discrete Element Method (DEM) modelling and DEM calibration, static design of belt conveyor systems among other topics.
