HAVER & BOECKER has made its patented ROTO-LOCK dosing unit a standard feature on the ROTO-PACKER RVT packing machine, delivering cleaner operation, reduced product loss and increased output for cement, building materials and chemical producers packing bulk, powdery product.
When paired with the optional ROTO-FEED airless rotary feeder, the system is 70 per cent cleaner than a conventional slide gate dosing system and enables up to 8 per cent faster filling – reducing downtime and spare parts costs across high-volume packing operations.
“The ROTO-LOCK and ROTO-FEED systems improve sustainability holistically. Less dust is better for the environment, workers and the bottom line. Making the ROTO-LOCK standard on the ROTO-PACKER RVT just made sense,” HAVER & BOECKER Australia sales engineer Alex Santi said.
Cleaner dosing, less wear
The ROTO-LOCK is a specialised shaft-sealed dosing unit that fully closes the gate once a valve bag is packed. ROTO-LOCK prevents dust escaping while the machine rotates and a new bag is applied to the filling spout. The design means less wear than traditional slide gate dosing units, cutting spare parts costs and extending service intervals.
High-capacity rotary packing
The ROTO-PACKER RVT features up to 16 filling spouts and fills between 1,000 and 6,000 valve bags per hour (17 to 100 bags per minute), with the capacity to run around the clock, seven days a week. Alongside the ROTO-LOCK, the machine comes standard with an intelligent ventilation system, Siemens TIA Portal control system, intelligent illumination to indicate operating status and MEC 4.0 weighing electronics developed specifically for the bagging industry.
AI-enabled quality control
The newest ROTO-PACKER generation can be equipped with AI technology from the QUAT²RO product suite:
- QUAT²RO® Bag Check scans each empty bag against operator-defined product specifications, preventing the costly mistake of packing the right product into the wrong bag. If the bag doesn’t match, filling won’t begin.
- QUAT²RO® Valve Check detects whether a bag’s valve is sufficiently open for precise application, dropping incorrectly opened bags and retrieving new ones – increasing production by an average of 10 per cent.
- QUAT²RO® Seal Check monitors every bag between the packer and palletiser, ensuring improperly sealed bags never leave the facility.
Fully automated packing lines
For complete automation, the ROTO-PACKER RVT can be paired with the AMICUS DEPAL Edition, RADIMAT Bag Applicator and AMICUS PAL Edition. The AMICUS DEPAL places empty bags onto the RADIMAT, which applies them to the packer spouts automatically; once filled, bags are conveyed to the AMICUS PAL for automatic palletising, reducing manual handling across the entire line.
