Shipping container solution supplier SCF has acquired Townsville-based business Tropical Containers, expanding into the northern Queensland market.
The acquisition aims to help SCF reach new markets and customers and build on the product offering of Tropical Containers.
It follows SCF’s recent collaboration with Speedy Gantry Hire for the installation of a number of hoardings and portable site buildings on Sydney Metro train station construction projects.
SCF CEO Justin Speedy welcomed Tropical Containers to the SCF Containers group and acknowledged its vision of servicing and supporting the Northern Queensland community.
“Whilst the past 12 months have been extremely challenging, SCF has very successfully adapted and responded to the changing needs of our clients across the country,” Speedy said.

SCF plans to expand its positive employment possibilities within the local community alongside Tropical Containers’ current team. SCF plans to connect to existing sponsorships and local initiatives while looking at new opportunities for community engagement.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, SCF has supplied the construction industry with on-site storage containers, dangerous goods containers, and portable buildings, as well as providing equipment to facilitate the ongoing logistics and freight requirements of key grocery partners and transport companies across the country.
