Speakers announced for Inside Construction Expo conference

More than 150 speakers will discuss key industry issues at the upcoming 2023 Inside Construction Expo in Melbourne.

The expo will be held on the 20 to 21 September at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The event will feature a major conference that will tackle three key themes for the industry: workplace wellbeing and team management, digital transformation and connectivity, and sustainability.

The conference and exhibition will provide a platform for construction equipment and companies, alongside industry leaders, to present ideas and equipment that are best suited to the current concerns in the industry.

Winner of the Women in Industry 2023 Woman of the Year Award, Giselle Phillips, will talk about workplace health and safety at the event.

She is a dynamic driver of positive change, making a difference by being a positive and supportive influence, sharing and imparting information or implementing change.

John Toomey, an international speaker, writer and thoughtleader, will discuss workplace wellbeing and team management at the conference.

His background in high performance roles in professional sport, including 7 AFL Clubs, and culture development roles in two A League Clubs, and as coach of an Olympic gold medallist, brings richness and depth to his presentations.

He holds a Phys Ed degree from Deakin University, did his master’s studies in applied physiology at Victoria University, studied, and taught human consciousness as an avatar master for 15 years, is a published author and has lectured at multiple Universities in PE and Medicine.

CPB Contractors project manager – TasWater Capital Work Delivery Project, Janitha Senavirathna, will speak at the conference about sustainability.

Senavirathna is a chartered project management professional and civil engineer with experience in infrastructure projects in Australia and Sri Lanka.

He currently works with CPB Contractors Pty Ltd for TasWater Capital Delivery Program as a project manager, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of quality capital works projects for TasWater and the Tasmanian community.

His career began as a site engineer on a major road project before transitioning to the National Water Supply and Drainage Board in Sri Lanka, focusing on water and sewer projects.
