thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions has signed a contract to supply crushing equipment for Australia’s third largest copper producer.
The KB 54-67 gyratory crusher will be used for primary crushing of copper ore for OZ Minerals’ Carrapateena Project, a copper-gold project currently under construction around 160 kilometres north of Port Augusta in South Australia’s Gawler Craton. The project has an estimated life of around 20 years.
thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions (Australia) CEO Andrew Howie said the company is proud that OZ Minerals has chosen thyssenkrupp as its supply partner for the project.

“This way we ensure high performance and cost-effective operation for our customers.”
OZ Minderals and thyssenkrupp have been working together since 2008 when the company placed an initial order for two grinding mills for their Prominent Hill operation.
