Two days in September, Melbourne will become the centre of the bulk solids handling sector.
The Bulk Handling Technical Conference and Expo (Bulk Expo) lands at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre on 16–17 September 2026, pulling together the people, systems and ideas that keep materials flowing across the country.
The event connects leading suppliers with senior decision makers, engineers, operators, procurement professionals and contractors from across the country, resulting in a space where ideas move quickly from theory to application.
“The overall aim of Bulk Expo is to get into the detail of what’s actually going wrong on site and what’s working to fix it,” Prime Creative Media head of marketing Molly Hancock said.
“The conference and expo are built to give attendees something they can take straight back to site or into their next project.”
Running alongside the Bulk Handling Expo, the conference brings a strong technical backbone to the show floor. Curated by the Australian Society for Bulk Solids Handling (ASBSH), the program is designed to go beyond surface-level discussion, diving into real-world challenges and innovations that engineers, operators and project teams are dealing with every day.
What gives the event real weight is the breadth of industries in the room. From mining and resources through to agriculture and agribusiness, the mix reflects just how far bulk handling reaches. Food and beverage manufacturing sits alongside cement, concrete and construction materials, while representation from logistics, as well as quarrying and extractives bring a different level of precision to the conversation.
“Bulk handling touches more industries than people realise. One insight in mining might completely transform operations in food processing, and that’s the crossover we love to see,” Hancock said.
