thyssenkrupp to automate one of the world’s largest cement producers

One of the largest global cement manufacturers has selected thyssenkrupp to deliver new automation systems for two of the biggest cement plants in the world.

One of the largest global cement manufacturers has selected thyssenkrupp to deliver new automation systems for two of the biggest cement plants in the world.

thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions will supply Chinese company Anhui Conch Cement with four new polab laboratory automation systems, two of which will be installed in the Wuhu and Tongling plants in eastern China.

China alone manufactured around 2.2 billion tonnes of cement in 2018, making up more than half of the world’s total production.

The polab laboratory automation system uses industrial robots to ensure a high-quality product is manufactured consistently with minimal costs.

It allows manufacturers to respond to changing quality and environmental requirements, such as including substitute materials in cement production. The polab system can record and monitor data about the product’s quality and intervene in the production process if necessary.
