Vortex Global has acquired SolidEx in a move that expands Vortex’s expertise and capabilities in the dry bulk material handling industry.
The two companies have a long-standing partnership of more than a decade. Through this partnership, Vortex has manufactured SolidEx loading equipment that connects to the spin loader, including positioners and loading spouts.
“Our mission has always been to put the customer first,” said Travis Young, chief executive officer of Vortex Global.
“By acquiring SolidEx, we continue to expand our ability to offer innovative and reliable solutions to meet the most demanding applications in the dry bulk solids industry.”
SolidEx specialises in rail car loading solutions from its Baton Rouge headquarters in Los Angeles. Tom DePierri developed SolidEx’s innovative spin loader technology, focusing on clean loading and fill efficiency.
SolidEx’s solutions aim to address the challenges of traditional railcar loading methods. This traditionally fills railcars to 80 per cent or 85 per cent of capacity. SolidEx’s spin loader solution distributes plastic pellets, increasing railcar fill rates to 99 per cent and generating millions in annual savings. Additionally, according to the company, this technology offers a cleaner, environmentally friendly alternative to previous loading methods and supports the Operation Clean Sweep initiative to prevent plastic pellets, flakes, and powder from entering the environment during the rail car loading process.
SolidEx joins Vortex Global’s group of companies, which creates a global service network that spans more than 120 countries and serves more than 20,000 companies worldwide.
“The acquisition of SolidEx underscores Vortex’s commitment to enhancing its product offerings and providing unparalleled service to its customers,” Vortex Global said in their release.
“The integration of SolidEx’s advanced railcar loading solutions with Vortex’s extensive product line will deliver significant value to clients, particularly in the plastics industry where SolidEx has made a notable impact.”
